London 2012 Tickets To go on Sale 15 MarchThe London 2012 tickets sale has been announced by the organisers and are set to go on sale on March 15, 2011. fans will have six weeks to decide which event they want to attend before making a final submission.

There are 6.6m tickets available and applications will close on 26 April, with all oversubscribed sessions being allocated via a ballot.

The 2012 Summer Olympic Games, officially known as the Games of the XXX Olympiad, are scheduled to take place in London, United Kingdom, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. London will become the first city to officially host the modern Olympic Games three times, having previously done so in 1908 and in 1948. Organisers estimate that some 8.0 million tickets would be available for the Olympic Games, and 1.5 million tickets for the Paralympic Games. Ticket sign-up was launched on 22 March 2010 and all tickets will go on sale to the public in spring 2011. To reduce traffic, ticket holders will be entitled to free use of London’s public transportation network on the day of the event.

Tickets for the Paralymic Games will go on sale on 9 September, with prices announced in May. To help fund the cost of staging the games the London Olympic organisers have agreed partnership deals with major companies. “Tier One” partners already announced include adidas, BMW, BP, British Airways, BT, EDF Energy, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Lloyds TSB and ArcelorMittal.”Tier Two” supporters already announced include Adecco, Cadbury, Cisco, Deloitte, Thomas Cook Group and UPS.

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) made the announcement on the National Lottery programme on BBC One.
